The Smart Dog SD 2100 by Innotek is the least expensive rechargeable dog fence system available today. The SD-2100 is in our opinion the best overall system for those on a tight budget. The package includes:
1. Rechargeable Collar – the collar uses the Innotek “Progressive Correction” that increases the correction strength as the dog approaches the boundary wire. The collar uses a NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery that lasts a couple of weeks and requires about ten hours to recharge on the provided docking station on the control box.
2. Control Box – the control box is very similar to the IUC-4100 and IUC-5100. It allows the user to adjust both the boundary width and the correction strength. However, unlike the IUC-4100 and IUC-5100 it has a recharger integrated into the top of the unit. The transmitter box is powered by electricity but also has a battery backup. Taking 8 AA batteries, the battery backup powers the unit when the main power fails and last two to three days.
3. Boundary Wire - 500 feet of 20 gauge wire, 50 boundary flags, and 2 waterproof splices can cover about one third of an acre. To cover a larger area (up to 5 acres) the system requires additional boundary kits.
